Alice Roche
Alice Roche offers a contemporary line of jewelry inspired by the natural and built environment. Handcrafted in her San Francisco studio, Alice’s designs compliment the everyday life style of the modern woman. Using a combination of fabrication and casting Alice works with silver like a pencil sketch defining line weights, movement, texture and positive and negative space. Her process captures an architectural feel and a compelling simplicity.
Alice grew up on the east coast and is a daughter of architect Kevin Roche (who received the Pritzker Prize in 1982). As a child she wandered the expansive model room of her father's office where she was fascinated by the small scale world that surrounded her- miniature buildings, tiny trees and detailed furniture no larger than her pinkie. She spent endless hours constructing mini environments and objects made from found materials. The allure of architecture never ceased and followed her into adulthood.
