Alisa Barry, chef and founder of Bella Cucina, attended Tante Marie's Cooking School in San Francisco. After completing an internship at Chez Panisse in Berkeley, Barry went to work for Vicki and Sam Sebastiani, who asked her to develop Italian-inspired dishes at their Viansa Winery & Italian Marketplace in Sonoma County. In the early 90s, she opened a small cafe in Atlanta. When customers kept asking to buy her pestos to take home, a specialty food business was born.
