Chilewich is all about home textiles that are sleek and modern...and above all, easy care. The line started with the RayBowl in 1997. The design features a metal frame covered with stretch netting and a simple, inventive mechanism to hold the fabric in a concave plane. The Chilewich Raybowl won utility patents and numerous awards.
In her quest to expand the product line, Sandy Chilewich discovered woven vinyl and fell in love with its versatility. Chilewich developed a series of custom weaves and colors that took an underutilized material and made it chic. The product line has grown to include chilewich placemats, chilewich floormats and rugs, chilewich doormats, chilewich pet mats, window treatments and more.
In 2001 Sandy Chilewich, along with her architect husband, Joe Sultan, launched commercial-grade flooring for the home. Chilewich floormats have a high performance, flexible, commercial-grade backing. They wear like iron, are washable, and the backing is non-skid. The flooring line also includes indoor/outdoor doormats.
The entire Chilewich collection is easy-care and designed to last. Chilewich placemats keep their color and shape for years. Chilewich indoor rugs clean up brilliantly with a wet sponge or mop. Just hose off Chilewich doormats and they look like new and hold up to all weather conditions. And now, you can even order window treatments (blinds and panel systems that work like drapes) made from Chilewich plynyl fabric. They won't fade and they look great. With all this goodness, we can hardly wait to see what Chilewich comes up with next!
