Spalted Maple Salad Tossers lg

Beautifully carved salad servers made from spalted maple. Hand crafted in Western Massachusetts. Spencer Peterman is always on the lookout for fallen trees, especially those covered by moss and dirt. From these trees, he finds wood with unique markings.

Spencer kiln dries the wood to 6% moisture content to stabilize and prevent future cracking and checking. He then hand-crafts each pair of salad tossers. Finally, he finishes them with food-safe oil to bring out the natural beauty of the wood.

Measures approximately 12" x 2-3/4". As each pair of salad servers are a one-of-a-kind work of art, the exact dimensions and markings will vary slightly.

With proper care, they'll last a lifetime. Hand wash your salad servers with mild soap and water. Dry off with a towel. Do not place in the dishwasher or submerge in water. We recommend that you apply mineral oil once a month (or whenever needed) to maintain the natural beauty of the wood and to help prevent the wood from being stained.
