The Bertoia chair was designed in 1952 and more than sixty years later, it's still an inspiration for numerous designers. Harry Bertoia was an artist and sculptor in addition to furniture designer. In Bertoia's own words, "If you look at these chairs, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture. Space passes right through them." The Bertoia Side Chair seat and base are made from welded steel rods in your choice of eight different finishes.
Plastic glides on the base protect your floors and the bottom of the chair. With proper care and limited exposure to the elements, the powder coated Bertoia Collection is appropriate for outdoor environments. Available unupholstered, with a seat cushion, with a seat cushion and back pad or with a full cover. There's a wide range of fabric choices and colors. The cushions are removable for cleaning.
