Keeping with George Nelson's vision of pieces that could be adapted for the times, the Nelson Thin Edge Bed (1954) now features slats instead of springs to accommodate memory foam mattresses. Finishes—including walnut, white ash, or white oak—reflect new technologies and consumer preferences. The headboard is available with or without woven cane; legs may be solid wood or stainless steel. But even with these updates, this unmistakably remains a Nelson bed frame in its simplicity and quiet beauty.
